The Touch remains a tremendous and innovative device, with enticing features. The second-generation iPod Touch delivers one of the most polished media players available at a lower price. It is one of the most impressive media players on the market today.
Whatever it is I’m pretty satisfied with the unit. Great design with a sleek thin body! The interface is really good and it is touch –sensitive. The navigation wheel was groundbreaking. The iPod Touch might have gone through a weight loss programme, but it's still big and you've still got to find somewhere to put it.
The new second generation 2008 version of the Touch not only leaves the software gaps filled, but also rounds out the missing hardware features. There are still a few differences; the new touch lacks a camera, GPS, and of course has no mobile data network features. In other areas, however, the Touch catches up to the iPhone and even ups the ante with a few new tricks up its sleeve.
The second-generation Touch also adds a speaker to the base of the unit, much like the iPhone 3G. But, again, the Touch is subpar in comparison: The sound is tinny and thin next to the audio emanating from the iPhone 3G; whether that is due to the iPhone 3G's differing construction or owing to the speaker itself is unknown. One missing ingredient is adobe flash. The new Touch also lacks the iPhone's earpiece speaker and integrated mic, as it isn't intended to be used next your your face. For the same reason, it also lacks a proximity detector, so the screen won't turn off if you slap it upside your head.
You can set music to run to, while the addition of a sensor (sold separately) that you attach to your shoe gives you running data so you can quantify the distance travelled, calories burnt and training performance and such like. Apple Ipod touch has a better grasp of level changes, from quiet background ambience where you can follow the gentle decay of sustained piano chords. You will love the player and the Wifi. It is the best choice for music lovers. So let’s rock with this exquisite set.
