Samsung Impression A877

While most touch screen phones typically come in the form of smartphones (i.e. handsets with a mobile operating system), the Samsung Impression A877 bucks the norm.

In addition to being a touch screen cell phone, this AT&T handset features a bright LED display, 3D sound and advanced speech recognition. It’s heavy, though, and has an underwhelming battery.

Price
As of Sept. 29, 2009, the Impression was priced affordably at $74.99 with a two-year service contract after an AT&T mail-in rebate.

Battery
Especially since you’ll likely be using its various advanced features, the battery on the Samsung Impression A877 could be a concern.
It’s only rated at up to 3 hours of talk time and up to 10.42 days of standby time when not in use at all. This does not make the About.com list of our best cell phone batteries.

Size, Weight

The Samsung Impression A877 does not impress in the weight department. Weighing in at a heavy 5.3 ounces, this does not make our list of the best lightweight cell phones.
The Impression measures in at 4.48 inches by 2.28 inches by 0.61 of an inch, which does not make the About.com list of our best slim cell phones.

Differentiation in the Marketplace
Despite some issues with its weight and battery, the advanced Samsung Impression A877 does differentiate itself as one of the few touch screen cell phones in the marketplace without a mobile operating system.
